Philip Mitchell CTA, LLB (Hons)

Philip Mitchell Phil trained and qualified as a solicitor, practising commercial law for five years, before joining Grant Thornton in 2000 to specialise in tax
At Grant Thornton, Phil worked in the Tax Advisory Group providing bespoke planning advice to entrepreneurs, privately owned companies and high net worth individuals, acting for a number of household names and high profile transactions. In addition to client services,
Phil was also part of Grant Thornton’s national media team, working with the tax partner responsible for tax and budget commentary in the national press.
With a desire to gain cross jurisdictional tax experience, Phil joined Edge Tax
Consultancy, a tax boutique in 2008 as a senior adviser responsible for designing and implementing tax mitigation solutions for UK and offshore clients, including overseas structures.
Phil is a Chartered Tax Advisor and continues with his media work, recently supporting Channel 4’s Dispatches Programme.

Will Cookson FCCA, BA (Hons)

Will Cookson Will is a Chartered Certified Accountant, who trained with Ernst & Young in their tax function, and subsequently worked for Coopers & Lybrand, GE Capital, Grant Thornton and Mazars.
Will jointly set up Harbour Key with Phil, having left Mazars as head of their employee incentives group where he advised listed and private companies and their owners/executives on reward. Will’s experience includes employee share plans, employment taxes, transaction taxes, remuneration planning and tax investigations.

Will has worked with the Quoted Companies Alliance share schemes committee in promoting best practice in small/medium listed companies (AIM, PLUS and smaller FTSE companies).
