Harbour Key raids local businesses to strengthen its tax team
Cheltenham, date – tax specialist and accountants Harbour Key has significantly expanded its team by appointing four new members of staff.
Directors Phil Mitchell and Helen Powell have recruited from local businesses to strengthen the company’s compliance and advisory team. Jo Hobson moves from Hazlewoods as corporate tax manager, while Ellie Mitchell, formerly at Paish Tooth, has been appointed tax and accounts assistant. Together they bring almost 25 years’ experience to the Staverton-based firm.
Two other new members of staff are taking their first steps in finance. Amelia Thomas joins directly from Bath University with a First in Business and Management, and as operations administrator will look after the company’s rapidly growing number of clients. Harbour Key has also taken on a new apprentice, local student Emily Gammon, who will be studying for her AAT Level 3 qualification at South Gloucestershire College as the first step towards becoming a qualified accountant.
“Referrals and recommendations mean that our business is growing rapidly, so we’re delighted to add a combination of experience and new young talent to our team,” said Helen Powell director at Harbour Key.
“We believe it’s important to provide opportunities and training for young people, but we also need in-depth expertise to handle the range of issues that our clients face. Our four new recruits provide the right balance of skills to take the business forward, and we’re delighted to welcome them to our team.”
Harbour Key was founded in 2011 to provide the same level of expert advice as a Top 10 firm combined with a personalised service to each client. In May 2018 the company won the prestigious national Tolley’s Taxation Award for the best single office taxation practice.
