Tax consultant

Our company combines specialist tax, strategic business advice and funding knowledge with traditional accountancy services. The team is made up of professionals from tax, accountancy and legal backgrounds. Dealing with owner managed companies, HK are involved in start up, protection, advising on shareholder and employee schemes, growth of the business, ongoing support, pre-exit planning and exit support.
All in all, this is a unique opportunity away from the traditional constraints of a large accountancy firm. The role will be a key appointment for the Directors with much potential for the future.
Ideally you will seek to work with an OMB client base and wish to have intense client contact providing an holistic approach.
We would be interested to hear from ambitious and qualified tax professionals from a variety of backgrounds who would like to work in a dynamic team with much future opportunity to progress to Director.
The role supporting the directors and tax manager involves, onsite visits and telephone calls with clients to gather information, Preparing detailed reports for HM Revenue and Customs & clients in relation to tax matters.
The position covers a variety of work to include some compliance work, R&D projects, patent box claims and capital allowance claims, whilst supporting the directors on advisory projects

In addition, the individual will be expected to:

Produce reports to explain tax matters clearly and concisely to clients;
Assist in business development activities and attracting new clients to the firm;
Build and maintain relationships with clients;
Provide an exceptional level of client service;
Carry out the work within agreed timescales and budgets;
Keep up-to-date which changes in tax legislation and HMRC guidance and identify clients impacted by any changes;
Produce technical briefings and marketing material as required; Travel throughout the UK to meet clients.

We are looking for an individual with the following attributes:

Commercially aware;
Excellent written skills and experience of report writing;
Good oral communicator;
Good IT skills, particularly Word and Excel;
Strong analytical skills;
Commercially aware;
Dedicated, enthusiastic, flexible and keen to learn;
Willingness to travel and occasionally work long hours to meet deadlines;
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
Driving licence is essential.

Location

The role will be based in our Cheltenham office.
